The seas and the oceans, the rivers, the lakes, the ponds, the swamps and the wet zones play an essential role in the good functioning of our planet.

The sea supplies a big part of our food. The availability of its resources depends on the quality of the sea ecosystem, which is threatened by 3 factors:

The pollution due to hydrocarbons:

Illegally, cleaning their tanks, the boats are polluting 10 times more than oil spills. Because of a lack of means, few offenders are condemned. The solution is to control the offending boats and penalize them.

The coasts are turning into concrete:

After decades of coasts turning into concrete, the camp-sites, the hotels, the car parks are threatening the coastal ecosystems. The solution is to preserve the littoral zone.

Many reserves of fish have disappeared or have been severely reduced. Before the fifties, the problem was stuffy in certain regions of the world. Since this period, the humans fish 6 times more fishes: The fishing industry has developed and the reserves of fish have decreased little by little worldwide. Furthermore, the European boats which fish in the African coast threat the local fish which is much less sophisticated. The solution is to forbid fishing in the overexploited zones and forbid the fishing of endangered species.
